Carmarthenshire Counselling Service is an established charity providing short term solution focused therapy free of charge. Our funding and targets are controlled by Hywel Dda Health Board.
Our counsellors provide therapy for a wide variety of issues for adults living in and around Carmarthenshire. These include domestic abuse, loss and bereavement, trauma, depression and anxiety.

The service accepts referrals from GP's, primary mental health and from individuals themselves. We provide counselling for adults with mild to moderate levels of stress. Clients with severe levels of stress or complex conditions are referred back to their GP.
We deliver primarily person-centred therapy incorporating various therapeutic techniques, dependant on the needs. The client is offered a course of six counselling sessions.
Face to face therapy is delivered in Llanelli or Carmarthen. Alternatively, clients can choose therapy on line or via telephone.
Our counsellors are either BACP accredited or working towards accreditation and adhere to the BACP ethical framework . All counsellors have regular supervision with an independent supervisor.
We are committed to the ongoing development of counsellors and provide training throughout the year.
To access the therapy, please fill in the form below. We'll send you further details and forms to collect information which will allow us to assess your needs and assign you the most appropriate counsellor. We'll ask you to score your feelings before and after therapy. These scores coupled with an evaluation of the service provides us with key information to help maintain and improve the quality of our service.
Confidentiality - CCS provides a confidential service: normally only your GP will be informed you are attending counselling. Further information is provided once you are placed on the waiting list.
